FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 30, 2020
McLean, Virginia: General Counsel, P.C. (GCPC) – a full-service law firm serving as external general counsel to a wide variety of companies – announced today the addition of Samer Korkor as a Senior Counsel. Samer is a former federal prosecutor and focuses on clients’ growing needs in several areas: white collar defense, investigations, compliance, regulatory law, and litigation, among other areas.
Samer brings with him valuable experiences of working at both a major international law firm and in several key positions at the U.S. Department of Justice. Samer’s full profile is available on GCPC’s website.
“Samer is a seasoned and zealous advocate who provides clients with thoughtful, strategic, and on-point advice,” said Merritt Green, founder and managing partner of GCPC. “Samer is joining a solid firm with a long history of serving as a trusted advisor. We are pleased and honored to welcome him.”
Samer joined GCPC as white collar prosecutions are on the rise. According to Samer, “all indications are that state and federal authorities will be increasingly scrutinizing and investigating conduct that might be viewed as fraudulent or otherwise violative of the law.” Samer explained that he is “dedicated to serving people or companies facing challenging times, whether it involves an investigation, criminal prosecution, or civil lawsuit.” Samer expressed confidence that serving GCPC clients allows him “to add significant value by providing insightful counsel at reasonable rates.” He emphasized the importance of “understanding our clients’ businesses and objectives, especially in relation to the ongoing public health crisis.”
Prior to joining GCPC, Samer was a prosecutor in the FCPA Unit of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, Fraud Section. He also previously served as Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division, and Counsel to the Deputy Assistant Attorney General on International Affairs. Samer has also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Washington D.C., and as a trial attorney in DOJ’s Office of International Affairs. Before joining the DOJ, Samer was a senior associate at a law firm in Washington D.C. He has served as an adjunct professor at UDC Law since 2013, and was a visiting Associate Professor of Law in the 2019-2020 academic year.
GCPC’s addition of Samer Korkor is part of GCPC’s efforts to anticipate the needs of businesses in today’s dynamic environment. Over the past month, in addition to Samer, GCPC has welcomed other experienced and talented attorneys, including: Mr. Matthew Brennan and Colette Shotton.
GCPC is a full-service law firm representing businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals throughout the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area, and across the country.
