Veteran’s First Contracting Program
The Veteran’s First Contracting Program is run by the Department of Veterans Affairs, and is specific to procurements conducted by the VA. The Veteran’s First Contracting Program gives first priority in VA procurements to Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), followed by Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), to set-aside and sole source contracts.
To be eligible for the Veteran’s First Program, the SDVOSB or VOSB must first register with the VA, and apply for verification of its SDVOSB or VOSB status. A firm cannot represent SDVOSB or VOSB status on a VA procurement unless it has first been verified by the VA. General Counsel, P.C. will help you navigate the verification process by compiling and reviewing the necessary supporting documentation, and ensuring that your application is complete at the time it is submitted.
Once admitted to the program, we will assist you with program-specific requirements, including subcontracts, teaming agreements, and joint ventures that build on your VA certification.
