General Counsel, P.C. is pleased to announce that Cindy Hsu has joined the firm as Counsel in our Intellectual Property and Corporate Practice Groups to add her expertise in intellectual property and corporate matters for both U.S. and Asia Pacific markets.
Cindy’s practice includes all aspects of intellectual property procurement and monetization including patent, trademark and copyright matters spanning across the globe. Cindy has prosecuted patent and trademark applications before the USPTO, WIPO, and other offices around the world in technologies including semiconductors, gas combustion engines, wireless technology, electro-mechanical devices, medical devices, signal processing, formulations, and production processes. Cindy also counsels clients on patent infringement, validity, landscape, licensing, and joint development matters.
Having co-founded an Edtech Internet business in 2010 (and now serving as its legal advisor), Cindy adds an entrepreneurial business-focused perspective in providing legal services. She has served as an outside general counsel to several clients by providing guidance on issues ranging from business formations to internet privacy terms to intellectual property agreements.

Cindy received her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center (2007). At Georgetown, she was a Dean’s Scholar and a member of the Georgetown Journal of International Law. She interned at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington D.C. and passed her patent bar before graduation. Prior to law school, Cindy graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Maryland College Park (2003) where she received numerous awards and scholarships. Prior to joining General Counsel, P.C., Cindy operated a virtual law office based in Tokyo and before that, she was an in-house intellectual property counsel with The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, GA.
Cindy is fluent in Mandarin and conversational in Japanese.
